1st – 6th Grades: The 2018 fall program will run from September 24th – November 1st. Coaches are needed for all grade levels. Practice times and dates will be determined once the coaches are in place. Registration will be ongoing starting in September. Registration forms will be taken to the schools or can be picked up at the Rec Office or register online at www.wahpetonpark.com. Fees are $20 for grades 1st – 2nd, $25 for grades 3rd – 4th and $30 for grades 5th – 6th.

Elks Hoop Shoot
The Local Hoop Shoot will be held during the PE classes for Wahpeton girls and boys basketball players, age 8-9, 10-11 & 12-13. The District Hoop will be held Saturday, December 7th, 2018 at one of the Wahpeton schools, yet to be determined.

ND State Elks Hoop Shoot Contest held at the Jamestown high school on January 20, 2018 at 1:00P.m.
The Elks National Hoop Shoot is a free-throw contest for youth ages 8 to 13. More than 1.5 million youth participate nationally each year and 1600 from North Dakota. The contest begins with the local schools hosting the initial event. The winners from each school, then move on to a sponsoring Elk’s lodge contest. There are 8 lodges in the State of North Dakota; Wahpeton, Fargo, Jamestown, Devils Lake, Bismarck-Mandan, Minot, Dickinson and Williston. The winners in each age bracket are awarded the opportunity to advance to the State Level which is held in Jamestown. The winners of each age division at the State Level advance to Region 2 held in Rapid City, South Dakota. Region 2 consists of North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana. The Region 2 Champion in each age division will have an opportunity to compete at the National Level against 11 other regions. The National Elks Hoop Shoot Contest is in Chicago, Illinois. The Winners in each age category will get the names inscribed in the NBA Hall of Fame. This years ND State Elks Hoop Shoot Winners are:

2018 Summer Basketball Skills Camp
10 one hour sessions. Sessions held every Tuesday & Thursday from June 26th – July 26th
Wahpeton Parks and Recreation along with Coach Brian Watson (Wahpeton Head Girls BB Coach) will be offering a basketball skills camp this summer for boys and girls going into grades 3rd—12th. Sessions will be held in the times listed below on this registration form. These are suggested session times but we will work with you to get you into any session time that works best with your schedule no matter what grade you are in. We will aim to keep each session to no more than 20 participants as much as possible. Participants will have the option to give us your first and second choice of the session time they would like. There is no guarantee you will get your first choice and sessions may be combined. The camp will cover shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding, free throw shooting, individual offense and defense, post and perimeter play along with skills contest. Participants will receive a camp t-shirt. The camp will be held at the Wahpeton Community Center and the cost is $70. (Payable to Wahpeton Parks & Recreation).
